Patchwork Puppet performances, 45 to 60 minutes in length, are planned for
preschool and elementary children and their families. They offer unique opportunities for multicultural learning as the audiences experience art, music, and folk traditions from around the globe. Most recently Carol has added environmental and nature tales to her repertoire, teaching about ecological issues through her programs and workshops.
The current show lineup includes:
- PUPPETS AROUND THE STORY WORLD - SRP 2011- A literacy/library program of
puppet-telling which features tales about how our stories come to us-How
Anansi Brought the Stories Down (African), The Revenge of the Story Spirits
(Far Eastern), and Tales of 1001 Nights (Middle Eastern). The presentation
includes opportunities with puppets, costumes, instruments, props, and
chants and is designed specifically to accompany the SRP 2011.
OH WHAT TALES WE TELL
- CANOES, CAVES, AND CROCODILES - Carol Taylor is a Mississippi River brat! In this show as Tillie Tatterfield, the traveling nanny, Carol takes a nostalgic journey down the river with her mosquito friend, Mo, sharing Chippewa legends, Tom Sawyer's adventures, catfish antics and a Cajun version of Little Red Riding Hood.

Earth-friendly words from eco-friendly tales hosted by Professor Heinrich Broomschizer, a wacky puppet fellow, who thinks he knows a lot about everything. Shows in this major theme include
1. HOOKED ON BUGS - Carol, The Professor and other Patchwork Puppets share
stories, songs, riddles and creative movement with moments of silliness about insects.
Facts, Fiction, and Fun!
2.TALES ALONG THE TRAILS - Animals stories, riddles, songs, and chants teach about habitats and animal adaptations to their environment. Want a show focussed on a specific habitat? Let Carol know.
3. UP A TREE! - Around the world there are unique trees with their own stories to tell - for example, the baobab, the Douglas fir, the kapok, and the banyan. This program features ways that trees have served our needs for centuries and wakes us up to consequences of forest destruction.
4. WHERE THE WILD ONES WERE - Become acquainted with stories of endangered animals as Carol and the Professor stack a tower of tales.

Stepping into Other Cultures with Puppet-telling
Carol as Tillie Tatterfield, the retired, eccentric nanny, is off on far-flung adventures and tells tales of her journeys to China, Peru, India, Nepal, and other magical destinations. Tillie arrives onstage with her push-buggy full of puppets, native crafts and artifacts and the adventure begin right in front of the audience.

- The program features tales of character education told with puppets and storytelling using
fables from around the world. Ideal for Character Counts programs.
- GRANNY FRUITCAKE, STORY PEDDLER reminds us of the peddler lady with her
pockets, bags, and baskets who traveled the country years ago, selling
trinkets, toys, sewing notions, kitchen goods and assorted household
necessities. Today it's Carol Taylor as Granny Fruitcake whose pockets are
once again filled with wonderful treasures- each with a story of its own.
- CASTLE TALES WITH LADY CAROLINE or DOZENS OF DRAGONS - Carol is dressed in a fairytale medieval
gown tellS stories of castles, kings and queens, and adventures with dragons.
- HANG LOOSE WITH MOTHER GOOSE - This puppet show especially for preschoolers features
fun-loving zany puppet, Ms. Goose, fast-moving rhymes, songs, and stories for young audiences.
- MADAME CAROLEENA, GYPSY STORYTELLER loves slightly mysterious tales
with surprises, suspense, and just a bit of a scare. She's a great visitor
to your family Halloween event.
- GIRLS CAN BE HEROES TOO - Why is it that the prince always slays the dragon
or the young man does three tasks to win the maiden's hand. Not in these
stories! These tales tell of adventurous and brave young women!
